Aquamarines are usually found in granite pegmatites and from the veins in metamorphic rocks that were mineralized by hydrothermal activity. Aquamarines have a blueish and sometimes slightly greenish hue. A member of the Beryllium/ Beryl family of gemstones, Aquamarines are formed in large crystals and are very suitable to be cut and transformed into beads and facetted gemstones. Aquamarines are mined primarily in Brazil, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Colombia, India and Russia.
