South Sea Pearl Stud Earrings
Aquarian Pearls carries a full range of pearl studs.
We sell pearl studs set in gold and silver. The pearls used in our range of pearl studs are cultivated in Australia, Indonesia, The Phillipines, Burma, French Polynesia and Japan and China.
Keshi Pearl Studs
We also sell keshi pearl studs. Keshi is a Japanese word for poppyseed or small thing and a keshi is the pearl composed entirely of nacre that the oyster creates after rejecting the nucleus that a technician has positioned within the ouster to start off the cultured pearl process.
Keshi pearl studs are made up with matched pairs of keshi that can be native to Australia and French Polynesia. These keshi pearl studs are flattish baroques in shape, sometimes button shape, sometimes looking like a corn flake or piece of special K cereal! Because keshi are all pearl and can be described as the natural bi-product of the culturing process, keshi pearl studs are very bright and the layers of nacre give off wonderful lustre.
Tahitian keshi studs are often vivid green or peacock green or aubergine or pistachio in colour whereas Australian keshi studs are often white or silver in colour with strong pink overtones and again Australian keshi pearl studs have so many nacres layers that they are rich and lustrous as well. Keshi pearl studs in Aquarian Pearls stock range from 5 to 12 millimetres in size, and larger sizes can be available if desired.

Gold Stud Earrings & Gold Pearl Stud Earrings
The simplicity of gold stud earrings makes them a staple in jewellery collections. They are perfect for everyday wear, providing a subtle and polished look that complements various outfits.
Origins of our pearl studs
The white pearl studs are cultivated in Japan and Australia and Indonesia.
The cream and champagne coloured pearl studs are cultivated in Burman (Myanmar).
The golden pearl studs are cultivated in both Burma and the majority of the world’s supply are cultivated in The Phillipines.
Black Pearl Studs
The black pearl studs or Tahitian pearl studs are cultivated in The Cook Islands and throughout the archipelago of French Polynesia. These pearl studs can be in a variety of colours that the Pinctada Margeritifera oyster gives us, reds, blues, pinks, greens, peacock green, aubergine, pistachio and silver.
Pearl studs are manufactured by half drilling the pearl and affixing it onto a post held together with jewellers glue. Pearl studs optimally fit snugly onto the ear lobe held in place by a butterfly at the back of the lobe. At Aquarian Pearls, we prefer your pearl studs to come with a larger than average quite generous set of butterflies to keep your pearl studs firmly in place and comfortably so.
Large Pearl Stud Earrings
Large pearl studs are an absolute classic and undoubtedly the single must have pair of earrings in a basic pearl collection. Whatever your taste in the colour of your pearl studs or whether you have a pair of pearl studs in each available colour on the market, we advise you to never compromise on lustre. The brighter your pearl studs then the more pearl nacre your pearls have and these layers of nacreous crystals are the essence of everything pearly!
South sea pearl studs are typically between 9 and 13 millimetres in diameter.
These pearl studs can be round in shape, or slightly off round, or high or flat button shapes, or flattish baroque shapes.
