Jewelmer co-founder, President, and CEO, pioneered the creation of two of the world’s most exquisite living gems: the black Tahitian pearl and the golden South Sea pearl. His first pearl farm venture in French Polynesia produced the mystical black Tahitian pearl. In the mid-70s, Branellec sailed to the Philippines where he discovered the Pinctada maxima, the world’s largest pearl-bearing oyster. Together with Manuel Cojuangco, he established Jewelmer which pioneered the production of the golden South Sea pearl. Branellec has been awarded Officier de L’Ordre National du Merite, and has received the distinction of Chevalier Dans L’Ordre National de la Legion d’Honneur, the highest French order of merit for military or civil achievements. To honor his work in marine rescue and environmental conservation, Branellec is also a commodore at the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
